If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours.
-Henry David Thoreau
Everything that MAN creates to occupy his time is ABSURD. Man did not invent a tree, river, or sky. If he did it would be absurd. Man did not invent an ocean. Without prior knowledge or experience of these concepts a man (or woman) could never even dream it up. Biologically speaking your only function as a male is to reproduce. Period. The only biological function as a female is to bear and nurture the children until they are able to survive on their own. You did your part to continue the species and you may go now. EVERYTHING else is wondering around in a UNIVERSE of ABSURDITY. It is like being a lifelong tourist in Dumbassland and buying everything in the gift shop that isn’t glued to the floor.
Even the idea of FREEDOM is absurd. We are no more free than a lion is “free” living in a zoo. Just because we are free to walk about and “live as lions live” does not mean we are free. We do not have “FREEDOM” just because we can NOT see the cage.
If these man-made inventions fix anything then why after the invention of watches do doctor’s offices have WAITING ROOMS?! Watches, cars, and endless freeways do they make us more expedient? If we do not build these things then how will we ever get to heaven before the ice cubes in our brains melt? Unless you have a better opinion, but I assume you are still waiting to thaw your mind in the sunset of senility? Hmmmm? Just checking to see if you are still awake. HAHAHAHA!
Shadows are falling and I’ve been here all day
It’s too hot to sleep, time is running away
Feel like my soul has turned into steel
I’ve still got the scars that the sun didn’t heal
There’s not even room enough to be anywhere
It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there
I know no one asks you to THINK, they only ask you to DO, so I can understand the confusion.
The point is: I don’t think it is a great idea to allow the absurdity to control your life. Imagine you are a pebble in a hurricane. Then imagine you are a large stone. Then imagine you are a mountain. Don’t be a pebble, be a mountain. I am thankful that most people I know already understand this and have truly found out how to be happy and how wonderfully simple it is. There is a lot to be thankful for. Just remember to take time to smell the roses in the garden of life. SQUAREROOTOFZERO
